This object was built in the 1930s and was used by the German Navy.
Originally a part of the division of the navy responsible for researching and building mines, after the war it was recommissioned for the German Navy's Technical School. It must be abandoned for about 10 or 15 years now, but the decay is only slowly setting in. The basement has been raided by copper thieves, but the rest of the building is mostly unharmed by graffiti "artists" and other vandals, so it makes a really good addition to my collection of lost places.
You might say I'm a collector. I collect rare objects. Facts, stories...I travel the roads of Germany seeking its heart.

Abandoned Hospital (Part 9)
After checking out the possible lost place that I had come across - kind of a preliminary exploration, I decided to take another tour of the abandoned hospital.
There was one basement that I hadn't been to yet, and the weather was really nice, so I took the bus at the nearest station and walked the rest of the way to the old clinic.
The basement wasn't really spectacular, but I managed to get some nice pictures in the dark, and I even went halfway into one of the tunnels...

Pillbox Bunker
Today, I wanted to check out a possible UrbEx location near the Kiel Canal locks at Holtenau.
On the way along the abandoned railroad tracks, I found an old pillbox bunker from World War II, and of course, this had to go into my collection of Lost Places.
These little "bunkers" had been set up in a lot of places over the cities for people to seek shelter in case of an airstrike or artillery fire.
This "mushroom" or in German "Pilz" (so called for it's characteristic shape) was built for up to five people that had to cram in there standing up.
