The Water Works - Abandoned Air Force NCO School and Barracks (Part 3)

As I mentioned in my last post about this location, the first building we entered was not only one of the transformer stations, but also the facility's water works.
In spite of the ten years of "vacancy", there has not been much vandalism.
There were even some reagents left that were once used for testing the quality of the fresh water.

The Transformer Station - Abandoned Air Force NCO School and Barracks (Part 2)

The first building we entered contained a transformer station and also accomodated the station's waterworks.
Here are the photos from the transformner station.
We were really surprised to find it so intact. The copper thieves had made their way in there, but I think they left empty-handed because thanks to the trees around the building there is no way to get the "loot" out of the area without heavy machinery or chopping down the forest first.

So we were really lucky to find the thing almost untouched.

Abandoned Air Force NCO School and Barracks

This military facility was built from 1937 until 1939, when the German Air Force moved their first soldiers here.
In 1945, these were replaced by British soldiers.
Before German troops moved back into the barracks, the buildings hosted, among others, a bubble gum factory, a coal merchant, a primary school, a vocational school, even police stations.
In the years since 1959, various training units of the German Luftwaffe were stationed here.
The basic military training of the recruits took place here and this was the site of the Luftwaffe's NCO school.

We were in there for about 4 hours and we only managed to go through 4 buildings. These are the HDR photos I took.
