Maison D.

As far back as the 8th century, a Slavic rampart was located on an island at the junction of two rivers. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1127, which makes the castle the oldest secular building in Pomerania. In 1840, the island was used as a location for a mansion built by a Prussian noble family. In 1881, ownership of the mansion passed to a different family which lived on the premises until the expropriation in 1945 after World War II. From 1945 until 1986, the mansion was used as a boarding school by the GDR.
